27 boats turned out for the final Water Wag race of the AIB DBSC 2024 season on Wednesday (September 18th). The boats competed for the Candlelight trophy, and in keeping with tradition, several boats were sporting fairy lights. Several boats were sporting fairy lights for the annual Candlelight Trophy Race, the last race of the AIB DBSC 2024 season for the Water Wag class Photo: Brendan Briscoe After a brief postponement, Race Officer Tadgh Donnelly got the fleet underway in a light NE’ly 5-6 knot breeze, giving the fleet a 3-round windward/leeward course.

Due to the dying breeze the race was shortened at the leeward gate on the second round.
