
Excelsior Sports CorrespondentJAMMU, Mar 8: The J&K Fencing Association, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, conducted the selection trials for the 26th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship (Boys & Girls) 2024-25 at the Indoor Fencing Hall, MA Stadium Jammu. The trials saw active participation from approximately 70 fencers from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.The following male fencers were selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the national competition, scheduled to be held at Cuttack, Odisha, from March 27 to 30: Samar Partap Singh, Varchasv Vishal, Tanmay Gupta, Souvik Rajput, Arvind Sharma (standby), Dev Karan Singh Jamwal, Parv Mahajan, Shivanash Sharma, Harnidh Singh, Bipin Jot Singh (standby), Rohan Prashar, Udyan, Kanishk Khajuria, Mansirat Singh and Smarth Sharma (standby).
The following female fencers were selected were Shranya Sarnyal, Dhanvi Dubey, Utkarsha Sharma, Ananya Rani, Aadya Proach (standby), Eknoor Kour, Sabrena Choudhary, Shrija Bali, Aahana Gupta, Amadhya Vermani (standby), Mayanshi Kashyap, Ashwathie Sharma, Aarna Gaur, Shrishti Wazir and Kawaldeep Kour (standby).The selection trials were conducted under the supervision of J&K Sports Council officials, including Naga Subramaniam, Rachna Jamwal and Shotu Lal Sharma. The technical team overseeing the trials included Javed Choudhary, Bhisham Singh Salathia, Ujjwal Gupta, Adarsh Slathia, Anthony Mattoo and Ajay Khartol.
