The Chicago Bears are in the thick of their pre-draft evaluation with the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine underway this week. They have multiple positions to address this offseason, most notably in the trenches with the offensive line and edge rusher. In a new 2025 NFL mock draft from ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr.

, the Bears use their 10th overall pick on Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons, which shores up pass protection for quarterback Caleb Williams. Simmons is the second offensive lineman off the board behind LSU's Will Campbell, who Kiper had the New England Patriots selecting at fourth overall. Simmons was trending towards being the top offensive tackle in this 2025 draft class before he suffered a season-ending knee injury in October.

His stock has been uncertain given teams haven't had a chance to see his medicals until the NFL Scouting Combine this week. But if he's healthy, the Bears could have their left tackle of the future in Simmons. While the Bears could certainly upgrade at left tackle over Braxton Jones, who's started the past three seasons, the entire interior currently ranks as the most pressing need for the offensive line.

But Chicago will have opportunities to shore up most of, if not the entire, interior during free agency, which could allow them the option to land Simmons. This article originally appeared on Bears Wire: 2025 NFL mock draft: Bears shore up pass protection at No. 10.
