The Sunday Night Football game between the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons had major NFL playoff implications. With the 30-24 overtime win, the Commanders clinched a playoff spot and also locked up the NFC West crown for the Los Angeles Rams, thanks to tiebreaker ramifications. But even Week 17 games that didn't feature playoff-bound teams made headlines on Sunday, as key outcomes shook up the 2025 NFL draft order.

While the New York Giants had every cause to celebrate their hard-fought 45-33 win over the Indianapolis Colts, it sent them tumbling in the draft order from No. 1 to No. 4.

In their place at No. 1—for now at least—are the Patriots, who are set to face a Buffalo Bills team in Week 18 that will surely rest its starters. The Tennessee Titans also remain in the mix for the No.

1 pick after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns are the other 3-13 team heading into Week 18, and top of mind for them is remaining above the similarly quarterback-needy Giants in the draft order. Let's take a look at the updated NFL draft order after Sunday Night Football .

1. New England Patriots: 3-13 2. Tennessee Titans: 3-13 3.

Cleveland Browns: 3-13 4. New York Giants: 3-13 5. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-12 6.

Carolina Panthers: 4-12 7. New York Jets: 4-12 8. Las Vegas Raiders: 4-12 9.

Chicago Bears: 4-12 10. New Orleans Saints: 5-11 11. San Francisco 49ers: 6-9 12.

Indianapolis Colts: 7-9 13. Dallas Cowboys: 7-9 14. Arizona Cardinals: 7-9 15.

Miami Dolphins: 8-8 16. Cincinnati Bengals: 8-8 17. Atlanta Falcons: 8-8 18.

Seattle Seahawks: 9-7 19. Houston Texans: 9-7 20. Denver Broncos: 9-7 21.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 9-7 22. Los Angeles Chargers: 10-6 23. Los Angeles Rams: 10-6 24.

Washington Commanders: 11-5 25. Pittsburgh Steelers: 10-6 26. Baltimore Ravens: 11-5 27.

Green Bay Packers: 11-5 28. Philadelphia Eagles: 13-3 29. Buffalo Bills: 13-3 30.

Detroit Lions: 13-2 31. Minnesota Vikings: 14-2 32. Kansas City Chiefs: 15-1 Heading into Week 17, the New York Giants had what appeared to be a solid grasp on the No.

1 pick. They were, at that point, the only two-win team remaining in the league and would have landed atop the draft order if they had lost their final two games of the season. In fact, New York's chances of ending up with the first overall pick seemed so solid that Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders revealed he owns a pair of custom cleats featuring the team's colors and logo, though he didn't wear them ahead of his final college game in the Alamo Bowl.

However, with their 45-33 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Giants improved to 3-13, the same record as the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, though New York is now situated below all of them at No. 4 in the draft order due to the strength of schedule tiebreaker. In Week 18, the Giants will hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles.
