Mazda Australia has announced running model year 2025 (MY25) changes for its entry-level Mazda 2 and CX-3 , focusing on boosting safety amongst other upgrades – though it sees the price of entry up by thousands. The 2025 Mazda CX-3 arguably is the headline act here, with the outgoing base Sport dropped and the Pure becoming the new entry point. Said CX-3 Pure picks up a heap more kit too, including 18-inch gun metal machined alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control and Smart Brake Support – the latter being an enhanced autonomous emergency braking system.
The CX-3 Evolve grade also picks up the additional safety and assistance technologies, as well as front fog lights and keyless entry. Moving to the Evolve also brings 18-inch black machined alloys and black leatherette upholstery, which is newly applied to the centre console and door trims. 100s of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now.

It gains 18-inch black alloy wheels and a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system, while the flagship Akari picks up new 18-inch bright finish alloys. Meanwhile, the 2025 Mazda 2 lineup picks up similar upgrades with the Evolve replacing the Pure as the entry point and gaining adaptive cruise as well as Smart Brake Support assistance technologies. Further, the Mazda 2 Evolve scores new 16-inch black metallic alloy wheels.
These changes see both model ranges start significantly higher than before with the removal of the outgoing base grades – the CX-3 now starts from $30,370 plus on-road costs and the Mazda 2 from $26,990. That said, the respective Evolve grades see the additional features added for only a few hundred dollars extra. Also notably absent from the upgrade list is the larger 10.
25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system and Mazda Connected Services available overseas. It appears these still remain unavailable to the Japanese brand’s cheapest models in Australia. Both the MY25 Mazda CX-3 and Mazda 2 ranges are on sale now.
