Cosmetic changes include a new wheel design, and revised front and rear bumpers – the latter of which has moved the indicators up from the bumper and integrated them with the tail lights.
. There has been one major change made under the skin of the Electrified GV70, with its 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery upgraded to a larger 84kWh unit.
A similar change was recently made to the and , which in the case of the former increased its driving range by approximately 10 per cent. Though Genesis is yet to release a driving range figure for the updated Electrified GV70, a 10 per cent increase to its existing 454km claim would mean the facelifted model could go almost 500km on a single charge. While it now benefits from a larger battery, there's no change to its dual-motor drivetrain, which continues to produce 360kW of power and 700Nm of torque in Boost Mode (only in a 10-second burst), while it normally develops 320kW and 605Nm.
As the Electrified GV70 continues to be based on an 800-volt platform, it'll retain its 350kW fast-charging capability. To make it easier to charge, Genesis has fitted the electric SUV with an electrically opening charging port cover, which incorporates a small heating element to aid its opening in cold weather, while it also gains new lighting for better accessibility. In the US, it's also fitted with Tesla's NACS charge port, however this is yet to be approved for Australia.
Interior changes mirror that of the petrol-powered GV70, which includes a 27-inch OLED display incorporating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen, sitting above a touch-capacitive climate control array. There's also ambient lighting which extends from the dashboard to the doors, as well as a two-tone steering wheel with Genesis' updated emblem. Its Australian arrival will be welcome next year, as the current Electrified GV70 is outsold by all of its major rivals.
Between January and September 2024, Genesis sold 16 Electrifieds GV70s, accounting for just 2.3 per cent of all GV70 sales. By contrast, BMW sold 794 , representing 30.
