Crimestoppers is appealing for information after 71-year-old Wynford "Willie" Griffiths died in a fatal collision in Birmingham on February 9. Mr Griffiths was hit by a car on Audley Road, which subsequently failed to stop at the scene. The vehicle has since been recovered but the driver remains unidentified and at large.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have recovered the car we believe was involved in the collision, but we know the driver is still out there. "We're appealing again for the driver of the car to do the right thing and come forward." Crimestoppers is urging anyone with information about the incident or the driver involved to come forward to support the ongoing investigation.

The family are looking for closure so Crimestoppers has emphasised the importance of community involvement. Detective Sergeant Hughes said: "Someone in the community will know who was driving the car that night, so we are urging anyone who knows who might have been responsible to tell us what they know. "Mr.

Griffiths' family deserves to know who was responsible for his death, so we need as much information as possible to help our enquiries." Crimestoppers, which is independent of the police, is supporting this investigation by offering a reward for information they exclusively receive that leads to the conviction of anyone involved in the fatal collision..
