Officers from the Summerville Police Department responded to a report of gunfire in the Creekside Mobile Home Park on Bacon’s Bridge Road around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.
6, leading to the arrest of a teenager charged in connection with the shooting. Officers arrived at Creekside after initial reports of shots fired. Shortly afterward, two individuals were discovered at the CVS Pharmacy on Dorchester Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police determined the shooting had occurred within the mobile home park, where officers recovered several spent shell casings from the roadway. The two victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition and received treatment for serious injuries. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Rydell Lemar Holmes Jr.
, was taken into custody without incident. Holmes faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful possession of a handgun. He will be charged as an adult in this case.
Holmes is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center pending a bond hearing..
