TWO Glasgow eateries have been named regional finalists for the 2024 Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards. The prestigious commendation aims to highlight and celebrate pan-Asian cuisine across the UK. This year's ceremony will be hosted by BBC journalist and broadcaster Samantha Simmonds and magician Paul Martin.
Introducing the annual awards, Mohammed Munim, Founder Member and CEO of ARTA , said: “Asian restaurants and takeaways have made a significant contribution to the UK economy, both historically and in recent times. These restaurants & takeaways have not only created thousands of jobs but have also boosted local economies through their presence, especially post-Brexit.

"Each nominee is a worthy winner and we look forward to celebrating with them all at the award ceremony on 6th October.” Swadish by Ajay Kumar and Masala Twist were the Glasgow eateries named finalists for the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2024.
Swadish by Ajay Kumar on Ingram Street is popular with Glaswegians, garnering a 4.5/5 rating on Tripadvisor . One customer said: "Fantastic welcome and staff very attentive.

'Popular' family-owned Glasgow restaurant wins six top awards One visitor said: "The food in here is delicious and you get a decent portion size, staff were great, friendly and really helpful too, will definitely be back here!" Yakitori House near Glasgow in East Kilbride was also shortlisted, being named among other spots across Scotland .
