2 children drown in Habiganj

Two children drowned in a pond while taking bath at Lakhai upazila in Habiganj district on Friday evening.The incident happened at Noaggao village under Bamoi union in the upazila.The victims were identified as Sushi Akhter, 5, daughter of Sohag Miah, and Sohag's sister's daughter Barsha Akhtar, 4, residents of Noaggao village of Bamoi union under Lakhai upazila.According to local sources, the two children went to take bath in a pond next to their house. At one stage, they drowned in the pond last evening.The family members started searching in the evening and found them in the pond.Then they were taken

Two children drowned in a pond while taking bath at Lakhai upazila in Habiganj district on Friday evening. The incident happened at Noaggao village under Bamoi union in the upazila. The deceased were identified as Sushi Akhter, 5, daughter of Sohag Miah, and Sohag's sister's daughter Barsha Akhtar, 4, residents of the area.

It was learnt the two children went to take bath in a pond next to their house. At one stage, they drowned in the pond last evening. The family members started searching in the evening and found them in the pond.

Later, thery were taken to the Lakhai Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty the doctors declared them dead. Abul Khair, officer-in-charge of Lakhai Police Station, confirmed the matter. MB.
