Two men have been charged nearly one week after a Hindu temple was vandalized in Georgetown, Ont., Halton police say. Police say a sign in front of Sri Krishna Brundavana Temple on Main Street South was vandalized shortly after 1 a.
m. on March 30. Police allege security footage showed two male suspects in hooded sweatshirts ripping down and damaging the sign.
The two suspects had been seen leaving a nearby pub before the incident, police say. On Saturday, two men turned themselves in to police, Halton police said in a news release. A 24-year-old and 25-year-old, both from Halton Hills, have each been charged with mischief under $5,000.
Police say the men have been released on condition that they appear in court in Milton at a later date..
