An 18-year-old girl in Bihar cut her wrist after being upset with her mother because she would not buy her an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh. According to reports, Khushbu Bind wanted the phone to speak to her partner using the device, but when her mother refused her, she used a blade to slash her wrist several times.
The incident took place in Munger. Bind had eloped and gotten married but said that her husband couldn't buy her one because he was a student. So, she had been demanding her mother buy her an iPhone, India Today reported.
But since the family was poor, they could not afford to buy the expensive phone, so the Bind locked herself in a room and began to slash her left wrist with a blade. She was later rushed to a hospital. In a viral video, the young woman said, "I only want an Apple phone .
I don't have any other problems in life." In a similar incident, a teenager in Bihar attempted a robbery in his own house to buy a new iPhone. The incident came to light on October 22 last year when the teen’s father, a teacher by profession, reported to the police that someone had locked his son inside the house and robbed the house.
During investigation, the police found that four people had broken into the house and stolen cash along with gold, silver jewellery, and around Rs 1 lakh in cash. While the teen’s sister-in-law was the first suspect due to ongoing family disputes, the police later found evidence that the teen was the mastermind. He also confessed later claiming that he had planned the theft with his friends because his family had refused to buy him an iPhone .
