17 roads to close for Xi Jinping's visit to Malaysia [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 17 roads across the Klang Valley will be temporarily closed from Tuesday to Thursday in conjunction with the official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 17 roads across the Klang Valley will be temporarily closed from Tuesday to Thursday in conjunction with the official visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Malaysia.Federal police Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said road closures and diversions will last between 30 to 45 minutes to allow safe passage for the delegation, after which the roads will be reopened to traffic.He said 378 officers and personnel would be deployed to escort dignitaries, manage traffic, and enforce road regulations during the visit.

"On April 15 at 6pm, the affected routes will include Lebuh KLIA, Elite Highway (North-South Expressway Central Link), Putrajaya Ring Road, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5."On April 16 at 9.30am, closures will affect Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Putrajaya Ring Road, MEX Highway, Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas), Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE), Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Smart Tunnel, KL-Seremban Highway, Jalan Istana, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, and Jalan Sultan Iskandar," he said in a statement today.



At 12.30pm on the same day, further closures will affect Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Istana, KL-Seremban Highway, NPE, SUKE, SPE, KESAS, MEX, Putrajaya Ring Road, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.Yusri added that from 4.

10pm to 6.30pm, additional routes, including Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Perdana Barat, and Persiaran Seri Perdana will also be affected.On April 17, road closures will begin at 8.

50am, affecting Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Putrajaya Ring Road, Elite Highway, and Lebuh KLIA.He urged all road users to avoid the affected routes during the full closures and diversions, plan their journeys, and follow instructions from traffic personnel.© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
