At the age of just 21, Olivia Rodrigo is already a fashion favourite, flying the flag for vintage both on and off the red carpet. Ranging from ’90s Yves Saint Laurent to John Galliano-era Dior, it’s clear that the singer has an eye for rare archival treasures. A particular favourite? Vintage Versace, with Rodrigo wearing a series of archival looks from the Italian brand in recent years.
Back in 2021, the singer sported a strapless pink fishtail gown from 2001 at the 2021 VMA Awards, before wearing a ’90s crystal-embellished gown, originally seen on the runway on Linda Evangelista, at the 2024 Grammys. Most recently, at this year’s Grammy Awards , Rodrigo opted for a black cut-out halterneck gown dating from autumn/winter 2000. It’s clear that the provenance of a piece means a lot to Rodrigo, who previously revealed she’s the proud owner of a tartan Versace minidress that belonged to actor and style muse Chloë Sevigny.
“I’ve had this dress, the picture of her wearing this dress, saved on my Pinterest for years, and I was actually able to get my hands on it,” the singer told Vogue during her “73 Questions” interview. “I’m so lucky – it’s my most prized possession.” Clearly a seasoned pro at hunting down vintage gems, it’s time to take a leaf out of the singer’s style playbook.
