The arrested a 14-year-old boy from Maassluis for threatening school shootings at several schools in the Rotterdam region. The boy is suspected of making online threats. Schools in Amsterdam, Nijmegen, and Wijchen have also been threatened with shootings this week.

According to , anonymous threats were posted on social media promising that there would be “shootings at a few schools on Friday.” The threats were aimed at schools in Vlaardingen, Maasluis, and Maasland. “The police are currently investigating all reports carefully.



We understand that these reports can cause concern. We remain alert and are closely monitoring the situation,” the Rotterdam police said, adding that they’re taking “appropriate measures” where necessary. Various schools in the Netherlands have faced mass shooting threats this week.
