1 seed for the playoffs. Jake Tew and Mason Stevens scored in the second period in Sunday’s opener and Aiden Kerr made 12 saves to secure the victory. In the nightcap at Mansfield, Texas, Landon Kay scored four goals as Shreveport collected its 14th straight win, 6-2.



Braylon Loftin and Aaron Taylor also scored for Shreveport. The Mudbugs high school team will complete the regular season with two games March 2 before the Varsity Bronze playoffs begin March 8. Shreveport has never won a playoff game.

Kay, a senior at Captain Shreve, leads all players in Dallas varsity hockey with 29 goals this season. Teammate Logan McNeil leads the division in assists (13). Kay leads in points (40), power-play goals (seven), game-winning goals (six).

Kerr leads the division in goals-against average (1.50), save percentage (.937) and wins (14).
