13 one-off lump sums up to €420 with Halloween and Christmas bonus dates confirmed in Budget 2025 for millions of Irish

ONE-off payments of up to €420, a Halloween and Christmas bonus and support grant lump sum boosts for thousands of Irish are expected to be announced in Budget 2025 today. The Government has planned a number of extra pay outs as part of a cost of living package in the nearly €2billion budget. Ahead of today's announcement , Taoiseach Simon Harris said the Government has taken a "balanced approach" when implementing cost of living measures in this year's budget.

Also asked if the measures would drive inflation at the end of the year, he added: "I make no apology, none whatsoever, for giving people a little bit of their own money back between now and Christmas, because that's the buffer we need to provide people to allow the timeline between inflation falling and bills falling." With bonus supports for families, those on social welfare, carers and pensioners, here's the full list of 13 one-off lump sum payments expected to be announced today. New parents can expect a treble child benefit payment as part of a "baby boost" after the birth of their child.



Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman secured the move, which will see a payment of €420 in the first child benefit payment from January 2025. Three more child related lump sum payments can also be expected. Those receiving the child support grant (formerly qualified child payment) will see a €100 one-off pay out, before Christmas.

And TWO double child benefit payments will be issued in the run up to Christmas. The first will be paid in November and the second in December of this year. Anyone already in receipt of the fuel allowance will receive an extra one-off lump sum of €300 on top of their weekly rate.

It is understood this will be paid out before Christmas. Two energy credits will also be paid out as part of the cost of living budget package. The two €125 payments will be issued in November and December to ease the pressure on household energy bills.

Those who receive the disability support grant can expect a one-off payment of €400. And similarly, those in receipt of the carers support grant will also see a €400 lump sum top up on their regular payments. The Living Alone Increase is an extra payment for people who are living alone and getting a social welfare payment.

Under Budget 2025, those on this payment will receive a one-off lump sum support grant of €200. The same lump sum was issued to this group in the 2024 budget. A €400 one-off lump sum will also be paid to those receiving the working family payment.

It's understood that the disability, carers and living alone and working family support grants will be paid before Christmas. DISABILITY Allowance is paid on a weekly basis to people over the age of 16 with a disability. How to qualify? You must: How is income assessed? In a means test, the Department of Social Protection examines all your sources of income.

To get Disability Allowance , your income must be below a certain amount. If you qualify for Disability Allowance, you may also get extra social welfare benefits with your payment and other supplementary welfare payments. And you can receive Disability Allowance while you are in school.

How medical is assessed? To apply for Disability Allowance, a doctor has to complete a report on your medical condition. The report is then reviewed by a medical assessor. The report will determine if you: Budget 2025 is also expected to contain a Halloween and Christmas bonus.
