Manchester United’s season might still have everything to play for in Europa League but that doesn’t mean the club shouldn’t start planning for the summer. A blockbuster summer at Man Utd awaits, the first one where the club has its own manager and executive team firmly in place. Murmurs of Man Utd’s large rebuild in the summer have already started which means Amorim will be equally driven to bring players in.

Man Utd’s transfer interest in Liam Delap of Ipswich Town has failed to get the pulses racing in the same way as links to the likes of Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen. However, his virtuoso display for Ipswich in their upset win over Bournemouth should make him undeniable in the eyes of Ruben Amorim.
Delap came up against an extremely physical Bournemouth side, one which dismantled United at their home not too long ago and bossed them. He scored the winner in a 2-1 win but even if he hadn’t this was a statement display as he won a remarkable 11 duels, the most on the pitch, not afraid of getting in a scrap. Liam Delap fits Ineos profileGyokeres and Osimhen are bigger names but in terms of proven Premier League pedigree, affordability, age profile, and playing style, it is hard to build a case against Delap.
A major thing working in Delap’s favour is that he’s shone in difficult circumstances since Ipswich are underdogs in pretty much every game they play. In the current Man Utd team, the striker is expected to make hay with limited resources, much like what Delap has been doing all season. That only raises his proverbial ceiling, exciting scouts at what he could do in a team that creates plenty which is what United aim to do eventually under Amorim.
Delap is exactly the kind of scrappy forward with perfect intangibles who can be molded into a regular 20-goals/season striker in the league and lead the line at Old Trafford for years to come.He’s coming through the trial by fire at Ipswich with his reputation enhanced..
