Excelsior Sports CorrespondentSRINAGAR, Apr 14: The 10th All India Inter Zonal National Softball Championship (Men & Women) began at Bakshi Stadium, here today, with teams from across the country participating in this prestigious national event.The championship was inaugurated by Member Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Khan (Gurezi), who was present as the Chief Guest. In his address, he welcomed all participating teams and expressed hope that the players would enjoy their stay in Srinagar.
He also highlighted the growing popularity of Jammu & Kashmir as a preferred venue for national sports camps and championships, stating that the newly elected Government is committed to further improving the sports infrastructure in the region. Organized by the J&K Softball Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and under the aegis of the Softball Association of India (SBAI), the championship will run for three days and conclude on April 16.All necessary arrangements for visiting players and officials have been made by the J&K Sports Council and the J&K Softball Association, ensuring a well-managed and welcoming environment.
