10% of votes cast in last hour in 5 districts of Maharashtra

PUNE: Election Commission of India 's data, released on Friday, shows voters in Maharashtra stepped out in fairly large numbers towards the end of voting for assembly election on Wednesday, report Sarang Dastane & Alim Shaikh. Also See: Election Results 2024 The state's five districts - Nanded, Solapur, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar and Hingoli - recorded more than 10% of their total turnout in the last one hour. Nashik, Washim, Yavatmal, and Sindhudurg registered 9%-10% of the total polling in the concluding hour.

Also See: Maharashtra Election Results Nanded stood at the top with a 13.5% rise in voting after 5pm, followed by Jalgaon and Hingoli (11% each), and Solapur and Ahmednagar (over 10%), data shows. More than 20 districts in the state recorded a rise in voting ranging between 5% and 10% in the last hour.



The only exceptions, where voting rise remained below 5% after 5pm, were Bhandara, Ratnagiri, Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. Maharashtra's overall turnout increased to 65% after the day's voting, with many districts recording over 70% turnout..
