A fire gutted 10 semi-pucca houses in Goalpara area near Central Railway Building in Chattogram early today. The fire originated in a house in the area around 5:30am and soon spread to adjacent houses, said Abdur Razzak, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Chattogram. Upon receiving information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and managed to douse the blaze around 7:30am, he said.
