6 million Chinese automaker BYD sold 377,420 electric vehicles worldwide in March, bringing first-quarter sales close to one million. The company set a new record by exporting 206,084 electric vehicles, an increase of 111% compared to Q1 2024. In Q1 2025, the Shenzhen-based automaker sold 416,388 passenger BEVs, marking a 39% increase from 300,114 in Q1 2024.
The proportion of BEV sales was 42.2%, a slight decrease from 48.1% in the same period last year.
Passenger PHEV sales reached 569,710 units, up 76% from 324,284 in Q1 2024, with the share of PHEV sales rising to 57.8%, up from 51.9%.
