1 man dead, another injured after argument escalated into shooting in west Houston park, HPD says

According to police, the shooting happened at a basketball court in Alief Amity Park on Saturday evening, where one man was hit over the head with an object and another was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Houston Police Department are responding to a reported shooting at a park on west Houston on Saturday evening that left one man dead and another injured. According to police, the shooting happened at about 7:32 p.m.

at a basketball court in Alief Amity Park at 12509 Alief Clodine Road. Authorities say an argument stemmed between three men, where one was hit over the head (not shot) with an object and another was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene. Police don't know where the third man's whereabouts are.



Officials say there was gambling going on at the park when the shooting took place. Police say the man hit on the head was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are trying to get more witnesses for the investigation.
