The deceased Filipino’s family has been informed, and the DFA is withholding further information on the matter out of respect for their privacy.“We continue to work and hope for the best for the remaining three Filipinos still unaccounted for as a result of the powerful earthquake which hit Myanmar last 28th of March,” the DFA said.Over 3,000 people were killed in the magnitude 7.
7 quake, whose epicenter was in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second biggest city.The Philippine embassy in Yangon relocated at least 31 affected Filipinos, and some 60 are housed in temporary accommodation as of Tuesday, April 8. The embassy has also conducted emotional support sessions for some of them.
