Danone issued a voluntary recall of over 75,000 bottles of its International Delight coffee creamer due to spoilage-related issues from its products in 31 states, announced. The recall was initiated on Feb. 21 by Danone due to the brand receiving "complaints of spoilage and illness with the use of the products," per the FDA notice, and includes two International Delight flavors: Cinnabon classic cinnamon roll and Hazelnut.
The FDA labeled the recalled products as on March 12. “A limited number of these products did not meet our quality standards, due to premature spoilage manifesting as a texture issue," a representative from Danone North America shared in a statement to TODAY.com "While we know this is disappointing for our creamer fans, testing data has confirmed that this is not a food safety issue.
We chose to voluntarily recall these isolated products out of an abundance of caution while we address the quality issue.” The FDA states that 7,747 six-pack cases of the brand’s Cinnabon classic cinnamon roll bottles and 4,762 cases of the Hazelnut bottles are part of the recall, totaling 75,054 bottles of the coffee creamer. The recalled Cinnabon flavor has a best by date of July 3, 2025, while the Hazelnut creamer’s best by date is July 2, 2025.
Both recalled bottles have a producing plant code of 51-4114 R-S. According to the FDA, a product in a Class II recall “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” The following 31 states received shipments of the coffee creamer issued in the voluntary recall: Danone North America added in their statement that any customers with questions or concerns about the recalled products can contact the International Delight Consumer Care Line at 1-800-441-3321.
“We take every experience seriously," the brand said in the statement. Dan Aulbach is an editorial intern for TODAY.com based in New York City.
