' ... if something happens to me': BJP MLC CT Ravi claims threat to life

BJP MLC C T Ravi, recently arrested and released for allegedly using derogatory language against a minister, claims a threat to his life and accuses the government of conspiracy. NEW DELHI: BJP MLC C T Ravi said that there is a threat to his life and asked the government to provide him protection. The MLC who was arrested two days ago asserted that if something happens to him then the government will be held accountable. He was arrested for allegedly using derogatory word against minister Laxmi Hebbalkar inside the Legislative Council in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.

Later, he was released on a court's direction. Ravi had alleged Karnataka deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar and minister Laxmi of hatching a conspiracy against him. "Human rights were violated.



D K Shivakumar and Laxmi Hebbalkar have conspired against me," Ravi said. "There's a threat to my life. The government has the responsibility to protect me.

The government will be held accountable if something happens to me," he added. The BJP leader said that false accusations were spread about him, despite his consistently respectful behaviour towards Hebbalkar. He said that during his arrest, authorities took him to various isolated locations, including sugarcane fields, during night hours, leading him to believe there were attempts to harm him.
